The project is an alternative for the man-made islands. It could be realized in any water area – from town lakes to the ocean seashores. The main advantages are:
1. Much less construction cost (in comparison with man-made islands) for the full recreation complex.
2. All the water territory under the structure stays free from total construction.
3. There are two levels for relaxation – on the water (with several ponds of fresh and sea water) and in the air (the hanging hotel with a “web park”)
The construction consist of the ring membrane, stretched on arms and fixed on 3 supports, coming to the bottom. The arms structure forms a “web park” with pedestrian roads and some plants – some kind of “hanging gardens”. Inside the membrane there could be a hotel with cafes, restaurant and winter gardens. You could reach this hotel two ways – from water (by escalator along the support) or from sky – by airship (there are special mooring areas on the ring for them)
The architectural workshop of Asadova presented projects at the Arabia-Expo exhibition
(A.Zmeul, 10/27/2007)
The architectural workshop of Asadova presented ambitious projects at the First Arab Exhibition Arabia-Expo, which completed its work on Friday, October 24 at the Crocus Expo exhibition center in Moscow. Ski slopes, floating hotels, high-rise buildings and other workshop projects may appear in the countries of the Middle East.
The first Arabia-Expo exhibition was aimed at establishing economic ties between Russia and Arab countries. At its exhibition stand, Architectural Workshop Asadova presented both implementations and projects, some of which can be implemented in the countries of the Middle East. This is an entertainment complex with a ski slope and a floating hotel in the Persian Gulf. The entertainment complex is a spiral structure, topped with a ski slope and consisting of sports facilities (ice rink, water park), separated by office and residential buildings. The floating hotel consists of a ring-shaped shell floating above the water, stretched over the spokes like a bicycle wheel and fixed on three pillars extending under the water. You can get to the hotel and restaurants from the water by escalators or with the help of airships, for which special mooring stations are provided.
The Asadov Architectural Workshop has experience in developing large-scale, socially significant and constructively complex projects, such as concepts for developing the over-track space of various areas of the Moscow Railway, the project for high-rise buildings and a house-bridge in the Moscow City area, and large urban complexes in Russian regions.
Chief architect Andrei Asadov comments on the company’s participation in the Arabia-Expo exhibition: “Our workshop has developed projects that can be implemented in dynamically developing countries interested in bright, high-tech and innovative solutions in the field of architecture and real estate. With the growing crisis in Russia, the Arab market seems very promising to us. ”
It is also important that the architectural workshop Asadova has already begun to implement large projects in Asia. In 2005, an entertainment center was built in the city of Shymkent in Kazakhstan. At present, under the project of Workshop-19 of Mosproekt-2, headed by A. R. Asadov, the construction of the Moskva_park business center is underway in the capital of Kazakhstan – Astana. The business center “Moskva_park” is a 25-storey building with an area of about 75,000 square meters. m, which will house a business center class “A” hotel, as well as a shopping and entertainment complex, including a cinema, fitness center, night club, restaurants and bars.
The Arabia-Expo exhibition is aimed at establishing economic ties between Russia and Arab countries, identifying joint investment projects and assisting exhibitors in organizing bilateral meetings to promote their products and services. In addition, the aim of the exhibition is to establish contacts between Russian and Arab structures at the regional level, including in the field of architecture and real estate. P>

The Floating Aerohotel: A Modern Aquatecture Marvel (Mike Chino, inhabitat.com, 17-11-2008)
Asea frs of global warming induced population displacement are steadily realized, the allure of waterborne aquatecture becomes more and more enticing. Designed by Alexander Asadov, this incredible floating Aerohotel features a lighter-than-air aesthetic that sits serenely atop an elegant system of supports. Conceived as an elevated aquatic structure replete with hanging gardens, the space-age floating islandpreserves the entire extent of the ecosystem beneath it, contrasting with man-made islands that disrupt their immediate environment with tons of gravel fill.
Asadovs Aerohotel consists of a 200 meter wide circular hub lofted by an interlacing network of supports anchored by three arms that stretch to the bottom of its site. The structures body will contain cafés, restaurants, and winter gardens in addition to a hotel. The Aerohotel can be installed in any body of water, and the plans include docking arrangements for boats as well as a landing strip for a zeppelin – how slick is that?
Asadov Architectural Studio states that one of the benefits of the floating island is that it has significantly less costs for construction against the gravel works. At this almost all the basin area under the construction is still untouched, thus improving the projects ecological value. If the current tides of global warming arent stemmed, well certainly be looking towards more floating architectural solutions such as this.
Incredible Floating Aerohotel (navigatetrends.blogspot.com, 17-11-2008)
Alexander Asadov. Asadov is famed for his deconstructed architectural design style, which is counterintuitive to typical Russian opulence. His design can be installed on any body of water, from a lake to an ocean. The structure consists of a main body that is supported by three arms that look like bicycle spokes. Access to the Aerohotel is via landing strips or gangways. Conceived as an elevated aquatic structure replete with hanging gardens, the space-age floating island preserves the entire extent of the ecosystem beneath it, contrasting with man-made islands that disrupt their immediate environment with tons of gravel fill. Asadovs Aerohotel concept takes the ecological idea of typical manmade islands to an even more environmentally sound proposition, as the impact of these structures would be minimal to the water beneath them.
