The building is located in the city of Rostov-on-Don, which is an industrial center and the most important river port. In the 1920-1930s, constructivist architecture flourished here, which significantly influenced the appearance of the city. Constructivism became a three-dimensional expression of Suprematism – one of the most famous painting styles of the time.
In the interior concept, we decided to create a feeling for the visitor that he is simultaneously in a volumetric constructivist composition and on a flat canvas of a Suprematist painting. Of course, this idea is combined with the developments of the company’s brand book and the images of the engineering industry and the images of the Rostov region.
The central element of the space was an installation that clearly demonstrated the internal structure of agricultural machinery in the form of an explosion diagram. The installation is enclosed in a glass volume of a rectangular parallelepiped. Lines and spots of a Suprematist composition emanate from it along the floor.
The height of the room is small, so to visually increase it, we left an open ceiling. On the ceiling – in response to the floor, the lamps will also be combined into Suprematist designs. Thus, it turns out that the visitor is between two flat Suprematist worlds, in the middle of which a constructivist volume appears.
In order to integrate ATMs and vending machines into the lobby as neatly as possible, we provided niches for them, decorated with voluminous plaster panels. Chrome interior elements give a nod to the industrial theme.
Living plants and dried flowers are an image of the fertile nature of this region, fields of wheat.
Extremely short lead times forced us to use a minimal number of custom products made to order. But every element of the interior here responds to the general idea, even the furniture is selected as if it was specially invented for this project.
