Kempa island and its vicinities are a unique place in the center of Vinnitsa, having significant town-planning potential. It is original unit where were bound a history of city, its unique nature.
After the war transport communications have bypassed the island. It has allowed to keep territory and adjoining sites of coast in relative inviolability.
Competent reconstruction of this place being original heart of the city, will allow to develop zones of rest on the island and quays due to commercial attraction of the sites revealed for reconstruction.
Project is named «the City Code» because it’s realization will allow to carry out on a rather small site the diversified works in a complex:
– Creation of the townspeople’s recreational center;
– Regeneration of a city fabric, restoration of historical quarter;
– New construction in a historical part of city;
– An accomplishment of an existing rest zone and revealing of new recreational spaces along quays of the river;
– Creation of new foot and bicycle routes – the beginning of a townspeople’s network of foot and bicycle movement.
