The Cold Pole in Ojmyakon attracts tourists from all over the world with extremely low temperatures. The new cluster infrastructure is aimed at an audience of adventure lovers. The main flow of tourists arrives in the winter, but the infrastructure is designed for year-round use.
The design code for the new Oymyakon brand is based on images of ice, snow, a mythical bull and the northern lights. These images are broadcast in architectural structures, small architectural forms, navigation elements and graphic design. As part of the development of the village’s master plan, it is planned to create new public spaces, build urban facilities for residents and tourists, including a multifunctional complex with a hotel, restaurant, museum and theme park. It is also planned to build a park and promenade with wooden flooring, warm pavilions and viewing platforms. On the waterfront there is a bath complex and a boat station. In addition, it is proposed to update the facades of existing residential buildings and the integrated development of engineering infrastructure.
The implementation of this project is designed for 3 stages. It is planned to attract external investors with a share of equity of 30% as sources of financing. It is also possible financing from the federal budget and the budget of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
Target audiences have the potential to expand from 3-5 thousand people to 50-70 thousand people. The increase in tourist flow following the implementation of the third stage will reach 10 thousand people. This will entail an increase in the number of jobs in the service and development of small businesses in the region.
