“Sun City” – is a legendary project of Ivan Leonidov that was created by him Lifelong, till now impresses with its freshness, depth and revelation. It is time to implement Leonidov`s ideas. Symbolism and daring of the forms devoted to peace and happiness of people.
Atomic energy, which was created as energy of destruction, thanks to the efforts of mankind becomes the energy of creation. VDNHa is perfect area for such formal and philosophical experiments.
Snow white pavilion with a golden sphere reflects the colors of the ensemble of the VDNHa and continues best traditions of the Russian architecture. Golden sphere – is mobile audience and an observation deck. Rising up inside the sphere, that is moving along the stairs, becomes absorbing adventure to the architecture history. The outer surface of the sphere is a spherical mediafacade, overlooked from any point. Volume of the hall are surrounded by the ring “orbits” of the neutrons clearly demonstrating the atom`s constitution, also have dynamic lighting. Two of these media-shells could work separately as well as together creating by these unique lighting effects.
Pavilion of the atomic energy realized as the “Sun city” fragment of the genius soviet architect, could become the legend of the VDNHa and striking landmark of Moscow, kind of architectural bridge between past and future.
