The project stipulates reconstruction of apartment houses of the end of XIX century for accommodation of the first public library reading room named after I.S. Turgenev. That building was demolished in the seventieth years. Tactful impregnation of modern architecture in the form of extensions and superstructures allowed to increase greatly the useful area, including again created cellar with a book-depository, keeping character and scale of a building. Existing planning structure of a building was added by two-light atrium, by tower and romantic hall in a penthouse.
